If you’re an internationally trained professional new to Canada, volunteering can be an important step in your career journey.

It’s an easy step to miss. It might seem like you need to focus all your energy on finding a job, but we’ve seen repeatedly that stepping back and volunteering can open new doors for internationally trained professionals. Getting involved in your community builds new connections, boosts your confidence and helps you clear your head.

At CRIEC we offer regular Volunteerism 101 workshops to set you up for success. The next one is in November. CRIEC also regularly organizes volunteering opportunities for internationally trained professionals, partnering with organizations such as Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids and Habitat for Humanity.
