Paying it forward by mentoring!

Throughout a four-decade career in oil and gas, Michael Taylor worked all over the planet—from West Africa and Norway to Houston and Calgary.

He didn’t put his hard-won knowledge and experience on the shelf after retiring in 2015. Instead he passes it on by being a CRIEC mentor, helping to support and build up the careers of newcomers to Canada. As a mentor, he befriends, listens to and advises internationally trained professionals over coffee.

He says mentoring in retirement is “an opportunity to pay back the people who have mentored me, and to pay it forward for the next generation of Canadian professionals.”

Watch Michael tell it in his own words—and find out how you can become a CRIEC mentor.
